This home remodel transformed the kitchen by relocating it to improve spatial flow and adding a new island and cabinetry, while preserving a unique red brick fireplace. The living room was leveled and updated with engineered flooring, enhancing overall continuity. The primary bathroom received stylistic updates with a modern vanity and a dual-head walk-in shower.
Kitchen–In this challenging remodel, we moved the kitchen to the opposite side of the room to remove a wall and merge the living room and kitchen areas. A large new island, which includes the sink, has become the family’s favorite gathering spot. We preserved the original red brick fireplace, which uniquely complements the new cabinetry. To accommodate the tall vaulted ceilings, we added glass door cabinets above the upper cabinets for a dramatic effect.
Living Room–Previously set on a raised platform and enclosed by wood railings, the living room was the first thing seen upon entering the home. We removed the platform to establish level flooring throughout and installed engineered wood floors, significantly improving the flow between the kitchen and living areas.
Primary Bathroom–While the layout remained mostly unchanged, we significantly updated the aesthetics with a new vanity featuring a vessel sink and wall-mounted faucet, and contemporary tile that extends from the floor through the shower. The large walk-in shower now includes two shower heads, adding luxury and convenience.
